At SGSPL, Sustainable Operations and long term value creations are closely associated with the fundamental purpose of Caring for Life.

As an initiative towards achieving this, we actively pursue practices such as reducing resource use, replacing traditional fuels with greener alternatives to the best possible, reduction in water usage, and playing a pivotal role in successfully implementing extended producer responsibility. We have extended these initiatives beyond the factory gates and engaged with our stake holders for greener, more sustainable operations.

Sustainability when embedded in product design, manufacturing processes, development of biodegradable products, usage of recycled raw materials as inputs in long term benefits of carbon reduction. It also plays a pivotal role in extended life cycle of the products as well.

Energy Management: Industrial energy consumption is major contributor for greenhouse gas emissions and concurrently, energy expenses directly affect operational costs. We have four pronged energy management strategy.

• Improving energy efficiency across our operations through awareness and monitoring.
• Adopting new technologies and processes
• Implementing measures & investing in efficient software and equipment
• Enhancing the proportion of renewable sources in the total energy consumption mix.

Carbon Management : We are continuously working towards improving energy efficiency across operational locations enhancing the proportion of renewable energy resources portfolio which includes Solar energy, wind power and Biofuels

Water Management :

• Water conservation using Rain water harvesting
• Reduction in the use of blue water through waste water management
• Supporting communities through water conservation initiatives
• Across our facilities we pursue and take initiatives in implementing approach of reduce, reuse, recycle, recover and recharge.

Waste Management:
All our hazardous and non-hazardous material is segregated and disposed of as per government regulations.

Sustainability initiatives taken in SGSPL :

• Environment Policy: Committed to environment with regular audits being conducted by external certification agencies.
• Increasing Water foot print: Rain water harvesting at Turbhe and Silvassa.
• Renewable energy: Solar Power installation at our plant sites
• Measuring emissions: Currently we are measuring scope 1 and scope 2 emissions. We pursue to work on scope 3 emissions in the near future.
• Power saving initiatives: Conducting energy audits and implementing actions for energy conservation such as LED lighting, VFD for motors & increasing awareness amongst stakeholders towards energy conservation.
• Tree plantation drives and similar such initiative amongst locals like Day light harvesting.
